Africa – Ghana

And again I ‹m travelling. This time something got me to Ghana. Perhaps you are asking yourself now where Ghana is located. Ghana is located in Westafrica and its capital is named Accra. I will be spending most of my time in Kumasi, which is located around 230 km in the north of Accra.

So far the first impression of Ghana is a good impression. Obviously it is a huge difference between Europe, but if you are open-minded, relaxed and patient everything will be fine. The Ghanaians are really nice and friendly. They are always happy when you can speak a few words of the local language. In and around Kumasi, the Ashanti region, they are talking Twi. So I try my best to talk a few words of Twi.

The food here is mostly rice and spicy stuff. With it you can get fish, meat or chicken. There is traditional food, but so far I didn’t try so much. But I will keep you posted.

The first impressions:

Chaos, many people, different English, many laughing and happy people, big street markets, food everywhere and if you go a bit outside in the nature you have the rainforest around Kumasi. So far the climate is comfortable with 25-29° degrees but it is very humid.

But next time I will hopefully write some more stories with a better order. But step by step…
